THE TRANSFORMATION OF MAJAPAHIT TEMPLE ORNAMENTS INTO BATIK MOTIFS

Batik ERNA Mojokerto is a hand-written Mojokerto-style batik renowned for incorporating Majapahit theme into its production. Some of the names motifs, such as Surya Majapahit, Alas and Bunga Cinta have nuances. The uniqueness Erna motivates this study to formulate following research problem: how transform shape heritage ornaments motifs? purpose descriptive qualitative investigate motifs. Observation interviews were utilized data collecting, whereas was examined using domain, taxonomy, component analysis. results show that transforms heritage, temple, flora fauna on relief walls, royal signs temple shapes inspired creation transformation can be seen in motifs Ukel Cambah, Rawan Inggek, Kembang Suruh.
